Not much has been revealed about the storyline of Death's Gambit aside from the "Become the agent of Death and rid this world of immortals" tagline that's now on their official site. As far as the aesthetic of Death's Gambit, we've already gushed about how satisfying the gameplay looks and the fact the game takes place on an alien medieval planet is something that's strangely never been done before in the gaming world. Perhaps that's why we're still talking about this project months later. It's a refreshing approach to the side-scrolling genre, not to mention it's basically the game everyone wanted as a kid but was never sophisticated enough to articulate it.
Now that PlayStation is behind the project, the Sony gods thought it would only be appropriate to make our brains implode by releasing a 'boss trailer' for Death's Gambit, further illustrating how incredibly dope things are shaping up for this indie project. On a side note since we're on the topic of extraordinary sci-fi games that are throwbacks to the 16-bit gaming days, some developer needs to lock herself in a garage until we get a true sequel of Super Nintendo's Xardion. It was the first game I paid a Blockbuster late-rental fee on -- and I wasn't even bothered by it. Blockbuster, back when humans used to live in caves.
