WRAP-UP of Stoned Gamer Qualifying Tournament #15 held 10/22 at Compassesh

On October 22nd 2016, we introduced the BOSS BATTLE concept to the Stoned Gamer Tournament, and it was an absolute success among all stoned gamers that attended the Sixteenth Stoned Gamer Qualifying Tournament of the 2016 Season.

In Boss Battles, a champion or top-seed Stoned Gamer that has already competed in the 2016 Stoned Gamer Tournament and qualified for the Grand Finale will stay on the arcade for 90 minutes and accept any and all challengers. The first four players to defeat the boss will win prizes and advance to the GRAND FINALE held on December 3rd in #DTLA. In our innagural BOSS BATTLE, we were proud to present Team Compassesh's @DJSkolOne with the official title of boss. Check out our introduction article to BOSS BATTLES here to find out more information about the rules and tournament structure.

The BOSS BATTLES held at Compassesh started at 8:30pm, so we had an ample amount of time for Stoned Gamers to get their practice in before the big tournament.

Aside from a placement in the year-end GRAND FINALE Tournament, Stoned Gamers that face the boss were competing in hopes of securing a Doc Red Apothecary cookie edible packed with THC.

For the BOSS BATTLE, we brought the Stoned Gamer Arcade to the main stage and once the BOSS was in place, the action was underway.

After an impressive performance from DJ Skol One, only two Stoned Gamers managed to get through and defeat the boss -- the first of which from Team Sunlight Security's @JosPala88.

We also saw Team Dabbing Diva's @Organicalielevated advance by becoming the final person to beat the boss in the 90-minute time limit.

In the end, BOSS DJ Skol One had one of the most impressive performances we've ever seen in Stoned Gamer history, going a record 21-2 in his BOSS BATTLE.

We will be updating brackets this week with the full Group D roster, but in the meantime check out these bonus photos from the Tournament.

Zeus is represented by Galactus in his avatar image because he has an immature obsession with Marvel when they went all sci-fi back in the mid 80s. I'm the creator of The Stoned Gamer, MiddleEasy, and Nickelodeon's The Adventures of Pete and Pete. Just kidding about the Nickelodeon stuff, but that would be really cool. I also produced nutty things for MERRY JANE, and a former writer for High Times Magazine.
